RÜSSELSHEIM, Germany, October 29, 2026 — Opel has announced that its fully electric Corsa GSE performance hatchback will make its Swiss public debut at Auto Zürich 2026, taking place November 5–8. The manufacturer will also show the electric STX Concept estate and its GSE 27FE Formula E racing car.

The exhibition is scheduled to open to the public on November 5, following a media day on November 4. Opel’s October 29 statement is an announcement of the upcoming appearance, not a report that the Zurich presentation has already happened.

Opel Corsa GSE: 207 kW and 0–100 km/h in 5.5 seconds

The Corsa GSE combines a battery-electric powertrain with an output of 207 kW (281 hp) and maximum torque of 345 Nm. Opel states that the car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 180 km/h.

Technical features announced for the high-performance hatchback include a lowered sports chassis and components developed for the GSE version. The manufacturer has also described a dedicated active sports sound system linked to driving conditions.

The company’s stated combined electricity consumption for the Corsa GSE is 16.0–17.0 kWh/100 km under WLTP, depending on the configuration. The model has already been available to order in other European markets; the October announcement concerns its Swiss exhibition debut.

STX Concept and Formula E race car also headed to Zurich

Opel plans to present the STX Concept, a fully electric design study of a future Sports Tourer body style. The concept incorporates an active aerodynamic system designed to change airflow around the car using movable rear elements. Opel Chief Designer Florian Theis is scheduled to discuss the concept at 14:30 CET on the November 4 media day.

The Opel GSE 27FE, developed for the upcoming GEN4 Formula E season, will also appear. Opel describes the racing car as having permanent all-wheel drive, more than 800 hp and regenerative braking capacity of up to 700 kW. Those figures apply to the racing car, not the road-going Corsa GSE.

Additional Opel electric models on display

Opel’s Auto Zürich lineup will also include the Grandland Electric AWD, the brand’s battery-electric all-wheel-drive SUV, and a Zafira Gaming Van with GSE styling. The event’s other exhibits include the Opel Astra Sports Tourer and Frontera Hybrid, which should not be counted as two additional fully electric debuts.

The manufacturer said its stand will be located in Hall 2. Public opening hours are set for 10:00 CET each day, with evening closing times varying by day.
