INGOLSTADT, Germany, October 30, 2026 — Audi has reaffirmed that the fully electric A2 e-tron will reach European dealerships in December 2026. The company confirmed the timetable in its financial update covering the first nine months of the year, identifying the compact EV as part of its effort to renew its product range in Europe.
The A2 e-tron was unveiled in September, when orders opened in Germany. The October 30 statement confirmed the planned market launch rather than announcing a second vehicle premiere. Production has already started at Audi’s main manufacturing plant in Ingolstadt.
December dealership arrival follows September order opening
The A2 e-tron is Audi’s fully electric entry into the compact segment. According to the manufacturer’s earlier product announcement, the German-market starting price is €38,200 for the 125 kW version with a 52 kWh battery. Other versions include a 61 kWh battery and a higher-capacity 84 kWh configuration.
Audi lists up to 646 kilometres of WLTP range for the 170 kW version with the 84 kWh battery. The manufacturer’s lowest stated combined energy consumption for the range is 12.8 kWh per 100 km under WLTP; consumption and range depend on the selected configuration and equipment.
Charging, technology and production
The 84 kWh configuration supports DC charging at up to 183 kW, with a manufacturer-stated 10–80% charging time of 29 minutes under specified conditions. The smaller LFP-equipped 52 kWh variant supports up to 100 kW and has a stated 10–80% charging time of 24 minutes.
The electric compact includes an MMI display arrangement with an 11.9-inch driver display and 12.8-inch central touchscreen. Audi also lists optional bidirectional charging capabilities, including Vehicle-to-Load and Vehicle-to-Home, depending on equipment and applicable requirements.
In its October financial update, Audi said the car’s development took 21 months less than comparable earlier projects. The manufacturer has reused production equipment at its Ingolstadt site as part of the development and manufacturing programme. For earlier production information, see the site’s report on the start of A2 e-tron manufacturing.
Audi EV deliveries in the nine-month report
The October 30 financial disclosure also said Audi-brand battery-electric deliveries worldwide totalled 143,748 vehicles between January and September 2026, down 12% compared with the same period a year earlier. BEV deliveries in Germany rose 39.1% to 39,476 vehicles, while deliveries in the rest of Europe were 70,637, down 12.5%.
For January–September, Audi Group reported revenue of approximately €42.1 billion and an operating profit of €1.2 billion. The company described product renewal and lower development and manufacturing complexity as priorities in its current strategy.
