Fiat announced on 29 October 2026 that the 2027 Topolino electric microcar will be offered in the United States with low-speed vehicle (LSV) street-legal capability, a new Open Air body style and two additional exterior colours. The compact two-seat vehicle is available through selected US dealerships with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $13,995, excluding destination charges.
What changes on the 2027 Fiat Topolino?
The US Topolino range adds the Open Air variant alongside the existing Topolino and Dolce Vita versions. The Open Air combines the regular Topolino’s full, asymmetrical doors with the retractable soft-top roof used by the Dolce Vita. The standard version retains its fixed glass roof, while the Dolce Vita uses rope-style door openings and a roll-back soft top.
All three body styles can now be ordered in Verde Vita Mint, Corallo Orange or Luna Greige. Fiat has also introduced a full-colour digital instrument cluster for the 2027 model year.
US low-speed vehicle classification and conversion kit
Fiat said new shipments of the 2027 Topolino will be delivered to US dealers already configured to meet the applicable federal low-speed vehicle requirements. Existing US owners are eligible for a complimentary conversion kit to bring their vehicles into the LSV configuration.
According to Fiat’s US vehicle information, the street-legal version has a maximum speed of up to 25 mph. It is certified under the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 500 for low-speed vehicles. The manufacturer states that it can be driven on most public roads with posted speed limits of 35 mph or less, subject to applicable state and local restrictions. It is not intended for highway use.
The LSV equipment includes a rear-view mirror and reversing camera, while the conversion package also includes the equipment needed for the relevant safety and identification requirements.
Battery, electric range and vehicle dimensions
Fiat lists a 5.4 kWh lithium-ion battery and up to 46 miles of driving range for the 2027 US Topolino. Charging from an appropriate household power supply can take up to five hours. The vehicle measures approximately 8 feet 3 inches long, 4 feet 7 inches wide and 5 feet 1 inch high. Its cabin is configured for a driver and one passenger.
The stated driving range and charging time are manufacturer figures for the US vehicle. They are not a guarantee of performance in every driving or charging condition.
US price, availability and delivery
The 2027 Fiat Topolino’s starting MSRP remains $13,995 before the destination fee. Fiat said the updated range can be ordered through participating US dealers. It continues to offer complimentary home delivery for customers located within a 50-mile radius of the selling dealership.
The manufacturer reported that several dealers had sold through their first allocations of 2026 model-year vehicles. It has not provided a total number of nationwide customer deliveries for the updated 2027 range.
Sanlorenzo collaboration and additional accessories
Fiat also presented a one-off Topolino developed with Italian yacht builder Sanlorenzo at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. The special vehicle features nautical-inspired cabin materials, textiles and wood finishes. It is a custom show vehicle rather than a newly announced production trim.
Separately, Fiat and audio company Monster announced the portable Monsterlino Bluetooth speaker accessory for the Topolino. The accessory is designed to attach magnetically to the vehicle and can be used independently. Fiat said it would become available through its online channel.
The 2027 model-year announcement is distinct from Fiat’s separate Multiplina four-seat electric concept, which remains a concept without confirmed production specifications.
